The most famous shoes of all time

Although we all know that diamonds are a girl’s best friend, we’d like to change that phrase – because diamonds are alright, but shoes are better! Yep, if we could have a closet full of shoes, we would be set for life because it’s a necessity. After all, we need to make sure we have shoes for the correct occasion, and we need to make sure we’re keeping up to date with all of the latest shoe trends. Although styles and shapes of shoes change all of the time, there are some shoes that just do not go out of fashion. These shoes have found their place in history, and they will forever be remembered as some of the most famous shoes of all time…

Naomi Campbell’s Vivienne Westwood platforms

Naomi Campbell is one of the most famous supermodels in the world, and it’s fair to say that she would wear a potato sack and still rock the runway as if she was wearing a $1 million designer gown. It’s not fair, is it? Nevertheless, we can’t stay bitter, because Naomi has the best taste in fashion, and this girl knows her shoes. Although we definitely don’t think these Vivienne Westwood platforms were made for walking, Naomi definitely gave it a good try. Since then, shoe fans across the world have tried to get their hands on a pair just like them. We haven’t found ours just yet, and we have a feeling our un-broken legs are thanking us for that.

Julia Roberts’ thigh-high boots

Let’s be honest; Pretty Woman is one of the most legendary movies of all time. While we love the storyline and we love the characters, there has always been one aspect of this movie that has stood out more than anything else. Quite literally. Of course, we’re talking about Julia Roberts’ thigh-high boots! It definitely takes a certain woman to pull these off and look as glamorous as Julia, but they really are something else. The shine, the heel, the length. Everything is perfect.

Judy Garland’s ruby slippers

Unless you’ve been living under a rock for your whole life, you’ll know that The Wizard of Oz is kind of a big deal. The movie will always go down in history as one of the best movies ever created, and one of the reasons for this is because Judy Garland got to wear some pretty cool shoes. Yes, her ruby slippers are one of the crowning moments of this movie, and we’d be lying if we said we didn’t want a pair. You just can’t own these bad boys without clicking the heels together and seeing if you’ll magically make it back home…

Daphne Guinness’s Armadillo shoes

No, you didn’t just read that incorrectly – they really are called Armadillo shoes! The only way we can describe these bizarre shoes is by saying that they look a little like ballet pointe shoes, just with a giant heel attached to them. We have absolutely no idea how Daphne walked in these shoes, and it’s fair to say that they look like the most uncomfortable things ever invented, but they definitely caused a stir. As soon as she stepped onto the catwalk with these bad boys on her feet, the world went wild. We think we’ll pass on these ones, thanks.

Kate Middleton’s patent court shoes

Kate Middleton may be a Duchess full-time, but she is a style icon always. Her fashion sense has taken over the world, and fans are standing in line to buy the exact same clothes and accessories as her. Because of this, her LK Bennett nude patent court shoes sold out within days of Kate stepping out in them. They are simple yet effective, and they were worn by a princess – so who wouldn’t want a pair in their closet?

Shoes really are a girl’s best friend, but it seems as though there are other shoes who are so much more than that. These are just downright amazing.
