If you’re the kind of person that loves to keep fit, there’s a high chance that you have tried all kinds of workouts and exercises. While there are some people in this world who can spend hours in the gym and never get bored of the iron that they’re pumping, there are others who struggle to stay motivated in such an environment. Swimming and other aqua exercises are extremely beneficial for people of all ages and sizes, and they’re pretty easy to do, too. After all, you might even have a pool in your backyard!

The deck dip

If you are conscious of your arms and want to tone them up, then this is the perfect workout for you. You don’t need any equipment to do this workout, apart from your arms and some serious motivation. To complete this move, jump into the pool and swim up to a ledge. Then, facing into the pool and away from the edge, place your palms on the solid ground. Keep one foot flat against the wall, while lifting the other out in front of you. Once you have done this, all you need to do is move your arms up and down so your whole body moves. After 10 reps, switch legs and repeat.

The ab workout

If you want to tone up your stomach and maybe even develop some rather visible ab muscles, then you’ll be happy to know that you can do this from the comfort of your nearest pool. While you may look a little strange doing this, you’ll certainly feel the benefits – so who cares what other people think?! To complete with workout, you’ll need your own strength and a towel or soft surface. You’ll need to put this soft surface on the edge of the pool, and then lie face-up in the water. Bringing your body closer to the edge, lift your legs out of the water and place your feet on the soft surface so that you create a right-angle. Then, crunch up and down as you would on land.

The tombstone kick

If you’re looking for an all-body workout that’s also pretty fun to do, then look no further. To complete the tombstone kick exercise, you’ll need a kickboard and some pretty strong legs. That’s because you have to hold the kickboard out in front of you, while half of it stays in the water and half of it is out in the open. Then, all you need to do is push off hard from the wall and then kick as hard and as fast as you can to the other side of the pool. Of course, this may be more difficult if you are working with a larger pool, but just try and do as much as you can, and then repeat as many times as you can. This exercise will target your legs, your glutes, your arms, your abs, and your back all at once! What could be better than that?
If you’re looking to cool down in this summer heat while also burning some calories, then you’ve come to the right place. These exercises will definitely work in your favor.
