Ideas for romantic summer dates

Hanging out with your partner isn’t always adventurous and interesting in winter. When it’s cold outside; you don’t want to leave the warmth of your own home and so you stay home and watch a series. With summer comes new opportunities to make new memories with your significant other, so here are some ideas to get the ball rolling.

Picnic with a twist

We all know the classic picnic where you go out during the day to a park and eat. Sometimes it’s too hot to sit in the sun for hours, so we suggest a nighttime picnic. This is a great way to get fresh air and avoid the awful sunburn. Find somewhere safe, lay down a blanket, and light some candles just like in Lady and the Tramp. This adds the romance as you can even lay and watch the stars. At the end of the night if you’re too lazy to move, snuggle up under a blanket and fall asleep to the sight of the moon.

Play a sport or go on a hike

Multitask by spending time with your partner and getting your body in shape for summer. Play a sport or go on a hike together to see beautiful views and make memories. This could be tennis or even swimming. It’s a great way to keep occupied without spending loads of money and to get to know your area as we often don’t even notice the community pools or courts we drive past every day. This can be followed up by a refreshing ice cream, which makes it even better.

Pick each other’s outfits for date night

With summer coming around, new fashions are surfacing. Maybe you’ve been trying to convince your partner to spice up their wardrobe. This is a good way to boost each other’s confidence and have an interesting date. If it’s a fancy date night, go to a thrift store and get second-hand formal wear, or if it’s a casual lunch date go to your favorite store and buy each other new threads. You can even hint to your partner about items that you’ve been wanting to buy for a while for yourself and hope that they spoil you by choosing them. It’s also a great way to see how your partner thinks you look best. Who knows – maybe you’ll even find a new style. And if it goes wrong it’s a great story to tell at parties.

Have a water balloon fight

We all have an inner child just waiting to come out. Although it’s a simple idea, water balloon fights can go in many directions. It’s a great way to cool off and relieve stress. So put on your costume and fill up some water balloons to throw at each other in the backyard. You don’t have to leave the house and dress up – all you need is each other and some good old water. You can even dust off the old childhood water sprayers and do target practice or add a little food coloring to make things interesting.

At the end of the day, you don’t need to impress the person you love but it’s great to try new things together. Summer is all about warm weather and cold ice creams. So who better to enjoy these things with than the person you love the most.
