We all wish we could lie in to catch some more Zs, and not have to worry about commuting on the packed subway, having to deal with rude customers, or even having to deal with rude colleagues. It’s days like these that make you resent having to wake up in the morning, and you can’t help but grumble as soon as you open your eyes. But is there a way to wake up happy? In fact, there’s a few!
Make sure you eat breakfast
There’s nothing worse than feeling grumpy and hungry, and we all know that’s a dangerous mix. Suddenly everything is making you irritable, everyone is annoying you, and you just can’t wait for the day to end before it even begins. By eating breakfast, you’ll satisfy that rumbling stomach, and you’ll feel the buzz of the endorphins, the sugar, and the nutrients as they make their way around your body.
Create an epic playlist
It’s no secret that music is good for the soul, so why wouldn’t you want to wake up happy and dance around your bedroom while getting ready for the day ahead? Instead of simply turning on the radio and listening to any ol’ song that comes on, you can create an epic playlist of all of your favorite tunes. Choose those songs that really get your blood pumping and put a smile on your face, and then you won’t have any other option.
Tidy your room the night before
Is there anything better than waking up to the sight of a clean and tidy room? We think not. Although it may seem trivial, tidying your room the night before is a sure fire way to help you wake up happy. If you don’t, you’ll be greeted with a whole load of mess and the fact that you are to have to do chores before you go to work. Nobody wants to do chores before you go to work, so do it the night before!
Place flowers on your bedside table
Flowers are beautiful, but they have also been scientifically proven to boost your mood. That’s why it’s always a good idea to place flowers somewhere where you can see them when you wake up – like on your bedside table. You will be greeted with the bright colors and the beautiful appearance, and if you choose to use real flowers you’ll also be greeted with an incredible smell. Don’t worry though, because fake flowers also do the trick.
Have a hot shower
There really is no feeling greater than waking up, stepping into the shower, and unwinding as the water falls onto you. Although it’s incredibly relaxing, the water actually gives you that boost that makes you feel as though you can take on the world. Your blood will pump around your body, your eyes will feel more awake, and your brain will be switched on.
You don’t have to wake up with a scowl on your face, because it only takes a few small changes to wake up happy. Give these a go, and you’ll realize your morning routine has just gone up a notch.
