After reasonable success with his first two albums, Chesney’s third and fourth offerings would put him on the map. In 1996 he released Me and You – it hit the top 10 of the country charts and was his first album to receive a gold certification, also producing two top 10 singles.
In 1997, Chesney released I Will Stand. The album reached similar success, but his single She’s Got it All was the real star, becoming his first single to reach no.1 on the country charts. Chesney had arrived.
